Soon..

Springtime is coming, just around the corner. Our daylillies are pushing on up.

CMOM

Hannah, Sam and I have recently, thanks to Courtney Santo, rediscovered the Children's Museum. We've gone twice this week, all because Hannah woke up at seven, got dressed all by herself, and started asking if it was time to go every 15..no, 5 minutes or so.

She is the CMOM pro. She just walks in, says "follow me, mom" and moves from one exhibit to the next. Today she was especially enamored by a station all about bees.

All your wildest dreams will come true..

Richard and I are filling our American Parental Responsibility this spring by taking our kids to Disney World. Richard has a conference in Orlando and the kids and I are going to tag along.

I'd like to take this opportunity to be cynical, but actually I AM SO EXCITED! It will be magical for them, and a whole different place for me than the one I frequented as a high school band geek. I remember going with my family as a kid and having a blast.

I told Hannah we were going, and later a commercial came on which claimed: Disney World, where all your dreams come true! Not long after we had this conversation:

Hannah: Actually Mom, all my dreams come true at home.
Me: Awww, really?
Hannah: Yes, because when I'm at preschool I dream of being at home and having fun with my family, and then I come home and my dream comes true!

I love her so much.

Happy Valentines

My dear husband's Valentine's card to me. He found this picture on the matrixsynth blog, and no Hallmark could ever hope to rival such an honest sentiment. Always and forever, baby.

I thought it was definitely worth sharing.

Baby Avery, not the stationary

I confess, I am totally in love with this baby girl. She's sweet, she's adorable, and she's my niece, so I can give her back when she cries!

Helmet Head

Hannah got a bike for Christmas, and (Hooray for Memphis) we had some pleasant February weather about a week ago so we went to the park. Hannah and Richard rode up ahead while Sam and I lagged behind. Yes, Sam still prefers riding Fred Flinstone style (feet to the ground, running while sitting) even though he can reach the pedals now.

Of course, the downside to the pleasant weather meant tornadoes the next day, but what else could have been more portentous on the 2008 super-duper tuesday?
